About who needs care: She has stage 4 brain cancer and is operating at about 60%. I, her son, need to travel back to where I live overseas for about four months. So the caregiver would be required to fill in her main occupational requirements while i'm away. While there are interests and hobbies (reading, tennis, bridge, gardening, etc.) she is not engaging them because of her disease. But it would be nice for her to have short walks in the yard and maybe engage in one on one activities with caregiver. It's important that there is a since of routine and accomplishing daily tasks. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver is soft and gentle with a big smile and big heart who can connect with my mother and keep things light and upbeat. To be able to start and hold conversations and keep mother engaged mentally. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
