About who needs care: The main purpose of the home aid is to make sure mom is safe and comfortable in her own home. Mom is able to walk using a rollator but not able to stay standing for more than a couple minutes increments because she is at fall risk. Health conditions are stable but the mild stroke set her back and hopefully she will recover soon. She also has dementia/amnesia. She wears hearing aids and reading glasses. She sleeps 11 to 12 hours at night so usually doesnt get up before 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. (on average). She is extremely nice and very easy to please. She usually spends most of the day in front of the TV and reading her bible. If Aid chooses to live at the house, one room will be available for the aid and access to the entire house with the understanding that family will be visiting on the weekends and will need the 3rd bedroom to be available only to family at all times. Health conditions: 1. Blood pressure is controlled by pills and low sodium diet. 2. Diabetic: controlled by pills and low sugar diet and one weekly shot. 3. DEFIB (this is very recent) just needs frequent monitoring using the finger oxygen monitor She is able to eat by herself but cannot cook for herself. The aid might need to heat the food provided by family or cook meals (simple breakfast and lunch and dinner) a very small list of what she cannot eat will be provided. Help provide clothes and partially help her get dressed. Give medication pills twice a day. Help guide her through simple motion exercises twice daily (20 minutes each session) and get up and walk around as much as possible. Reminder to use the bathroom (and assist) every 2 hours and ensure the pull-up is dry. Help her monitor blood pressure and blood sugar twice daily using provided monitors and record numbers on a sheet of paper for Doctors to look at (usually she does this on her own with a reminder and little guidance. Bath twice a week (or as needed in case of accidents - not often) Communicate with family members with full updates and call 911 in case of an emergency About the care needs: Must be a female and preferably Christian.
