About who needs care: Parkinson's, glaucoma (no sight in left eye), severe hearing loss (hearing aids), Parkinson's related Dementia. Military-loves war especially WWII movies and sharing about military experiences (He is an army veteran who served in Germany as an MP 1955, 6, 7) He loved scouting and was a scoutmaster for 12 years via our Church The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a computer programmer. While working for RCA he worked in the Marshall Islands for 12 years. He is originally from Florida and has been married to Mary Haymond for 42 years and has 4 children by his 1st wife. He slalom skied, was a scuba instructor, biked, swam, played soccer, had a pilots license, loved model building. Loved working with his hands as well as mind. With current issues he can do none of these. We are healthy vegans and love exercise and spiritual activities. About the care needs: Someone who will help me take care of him as well as overall family needs. Someone who is interested in him and is patient enough to listen and speak so that he can understand. Kindness and patience. Genuine interest. Hands on help. Willing to do whatever is needed within limits. We already have one caregiver who has limits due to her own family needs. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
