We are looking for hands-on care for my father in his 80s. Dad was diagnosed with mild dementia, but it appears to be worsening as he is more and more forgetful. We are seeking someone with experience working effectively with patients who have memory loss. Twice daily medication management is required for conditions such as congestive heart failure, arrythmia, and high blood pressure. He needs help and cajoling with bathing and dressing. Duties include transportation (doctor's appointments, errands, etc.) and light meal preparation. Dad does nothing but watch TV, but he may be open to conversation. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker.
