About who needs care: My aunt had two neck surgeries this summer, has limited walking mobility due to ongoing back issues, and wears a neck brace (but is scheduled to have the brace removed later this month). She has incontinence issues and needs help going to the bathroom throughout the day (she will need assistance with getting up from the chair, walking to a wheelchair, and toileting). She can walk some with a walker, but due to limited strength in her legs and feet, it is easier to use a wheelchair when taking her to the bathroom. Additionally, she would need someone to make light meals for lunch or snacks such as sandwiches or heating something up the microwave.) We also have two small dogs in the home who need to be let out in the backyard a few times throughout the day. She doesn't have many hobbies, other than watching TV. An ideal day, would consist of someone arriving at the home around 8 a.m. (no later than 8:15 am), giving her something for breakfast, placing her medications on a tray table for her to take, replenishing cups for water and tea. In between breakfast and lunch, she will need help going to the bathroom (being wheeled to the bathroom, helping to stand up, and toileting/cleaning, changing adult briefs as needed, and applying cream to prevent bed sores). It would also be a great, if she can be helped with very very light exercises while seated (such as lifting her legs and feet). About the care needs: A very patient and positive person would be ideal, as well as someone having a background in physical therapy. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
