About who needs care: My mother- in- law, recently had spine surgery in October for a compressed nerve. She has been immobile for a little over a year now and has had difficulty regaining her mobility. At this point, she is fully dependent on someone to assist and provide care for her. However, mentally she is fully competent and has no history of any health related issues. Her hobbies and interests use to include: going to church, singing, gardening, and arts and crafts. Now she mostly enjoys spending time with friends and family. Morning would consist of eating breakfast/ brunch. Help with using the bath room, washing and/or bathing and taking her medication. She mostly likes to sit up during the day watching television either on her bed or in her wheelchair. She prefers this because she is in constant pain and her spasms seem to worsen when she lays down. She basically needs someone to sit with her for a few hours to ensure her safety as she is unable to move around on her own. About the care needs: Personality: christian, compassionate, empathic, kind, attentive, great conversationalist and enjoys what they do. I would like someone who is certified and trained to do this type work in case of an emergency. As far as hobbies and interests, I don't really have a preference. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
