About who needs care: parents live together, in a remote but beautiful spot. she does all the heavy lifting. He is on a downward spiral memory wise. she has friends and activities she'd like to do - he has few, though he loves to walk a couple of miles/day weather dependent. Afternoon is when she'd like to paint, see friends, read books, swim (yes, year round in the ocean w friends). He reads, naps, is getting more difficult which is difficult for her. They are my awesome amazing parents...... sad times. About the care needs: Not chatty. Not full of questions, but can chat when the time is right. Seeing what's needed and helping/asking what is helpful -. Can sit and read a book while Dad reads or naps. Can drive him if need be. Patience is key - as my mom has some serious hearing issues that drive her crazy but she's working to figure that out. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
