My father in law has mild dementia. He is physically strong and manages hygiene well on his own. His main challenges are his short term memory and planning/executing tasks. He still lives independently and drives locally. My wife and her sister help him with finances, medical things, and food, but we need more help. We are looking to find an experienced & patient caregiver who can spend a few hours with my dad once or twice per week. Tasks would include: household management (taking out trash, making sure fridge is cleaned out, laundry, stocking soap & paper towels, etc); playing cards or games with him (this helps his memory); preparing healthy food; going on walks; medication reminders; occasionally taking him on errands or to appts. He's a great person. His two daughters (my wife and her sister) would occasionally be around too.
