About who needs care: My father is an alert, friendly, 93-year-old with mobility issues. He can move around the house with a walker or wheelchair, but he needs daily help rising from his bed, support showering and dressing, assembling his breakfast, changing linens. He is kind and interested in the world at large--reads and watches sports (his passion). He lives with our mother, 83, who has early-stage cognitive impairment. She is not physically impaired, is sweet and shy, needs some prompting and supervision and occasional assistance in the morning with all of the above. Flexibility and sensitivity to our father's need for some independence and his desire to remain at home with our mother, whom he loves dearly, is required.
