About who needs care: Mom has early to moderate dementia. She needs a companion to keep her engaged and active, playing games, doing puzzles, going out on errands (mom does not drive) and assistance with shopping and some light household duties like meal prep and laundry. About the care needs: The candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be patient, trustworthy and reliable. Have a valid drivers license and be comfortable diving to appointments, errands, activities. Experience working with older adults or individuals with cognitive challenges preferred. Accompany client on walks, errands, or appointments as needed Encourage participation in mentally and physically stimulating activities Monitor her environment for safety and report concerns to family Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
