About the job

About who needs care: She has a fractured C2 (neck fracture) and wears a collar - will eventually have it removed. She has mostly musculoskeletal issues, but also has moderate Alzheimers. She gets up and mostly sponge baths (rarely will use slide in shower seat to get a shower). Gets washed up and dresses in bathroom. Back to bedroom to change the pads on her neck brace, then rest for about 5 minutes, and then assistance to go downstairs to her chair. Assistance with meals and thickening any liquids that she wants to drink. Needs assistance in the bathroom during the day. She mostly enjoys watching TV or napping. About the care needs: Patient, kind, but also firm. She cannot remove her collar. Someone familiar with memory care. Mostly needs frequent reminders of tasks and assistance with getting up and walk with her. I would like her to walk outside on occasion, but she will have to be told to go for a walk because she will not ask or say yes if you ask! She is very hard of hearing as well and does not want hearing aids. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
