About who needs care: My father is 80. He is about to start a non-aggressive chemo regimen, but is otherwise healthy and completely independent. My mom is 79. She was recently diagnosed with mild dementia -- mostly short term memory issues but otherwise she is still doing pretty well. They have a small dog, who needs to be walked. They generally relax in the morning reading and/or watching tv; they usually eat a pretty light breakfast. They like to walk earlier in the morning, and then sometime in the early evening. Lunch is anytime between Noon and 130, and they will usually eat dinner around 7-730p. They like to eat good food. My dad has been a wine collector for his whole life. About the care needs: I am looking for someone who is friendly, has a good sense of humor, and understands that my parents both still think of themselves as independent but could just use some help with day-to-day things. We'd love someone who likes animals and can walk the dog when they are at the house. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
