Companion Care Needed For My Mother With Dementia In Portland

My father recently died from cancer, and now mom is on her own and needs help. She is in her 80s, has moderate dementia, and lives independently in her own home in Sellwood. She can currently perform all activities of daily living, but needs help staying oriented, and needs reminders to do daily tasks. Caregiver responsibilities include medication management, errands/shopping, meal preparation, keeping track of calendar/appointments, transportation, and light housekeeping including laundry. Ideal candidate has substantial dementia experience, and would partner with us to identify and engage her in dementia appropriate activities and/or social opportunities inside and outside the home. We live nearby, and are able to check in frequently. Currently she only needs a few hours per day, but her needs are likely to increase.
