About who needs care: Dementia. She doesn't do much during the day except do puzzles that are very basic and asks to go on drives. We are trying to keep her on a schedule for eating, and sleep, and keep her in her home as happy as she can be. Companionship and simple hygiene care would be great! She eats simple foods, like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, toast and eggs, nothing fancy. Its really about prompting her and keeping her active. At night she mostly sleeps through the night if we can keep her on a schedule, and she sleeps a lot, 10 hours. But someone must be present for her safety in case she wanders or has a fall. About the care needs: Mom is pretty difficult to motivate because of her dementia, so she will need someone that is patient enough to keep prodding her to do something active (like playing cards, go on a walk, load the dishwasher, clean a drawer, crossword puzzle, bingo, etc) but if she says no to simply ask again every 4 mins. Something to get her active. Something to get her talking. But its also ok if she simply sits by herself and does puzzles. No specific hobbies or skills necessary. Any ideas or skills are welcome. Services needed include: companionship.
