About who needs care: Warren is my dad, and he needs some help with some basic medical attention. I. e. making appointments, picking up medications, transportation to some appointments, and some other basic organization to help with bill payments. Also, I think some socialization would be great for him too. He can still do most of the basic caretaking for himself. He can drive himself to the store and do some of his shopping. Where he is able to come by at will and spend time. His interests are religion and politics. He also was a teacher for mathematics and enjoys talk of education. He generally will wake and go out and run errands but spends little time away from his residence. Since I only see him a few times a week I'm sure it would be good for him to get out those other few days for something recreational or chore related. About the care needs: My dad has mild memory loss. He will remember things or stories from years ago, but his short-term memory is slipping. He will not remember to do important tasks like reschedule the appointment he canceled, or to go pick up his medication after his appointment. It will take someone with patience but also someone who will push him because he is able to do these tasks with oversight. My dad is conservative but semi open-minded. He is definitely old-fashioned with old fashioned views. So, I'm hoping that it can be someone who may tolerate that a little. My Dad shows interest in religion and politics but can be easily steered off these topics if needed. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
