About who needs care: Independent Vetran who has a recent amputation. He will be needing 24 care when he first gets home due to strength and lack of mobility. He has diabetes but is otherwise healthy. He had a toe injury and developed Gagne green. The amputation caused infection and he has had to have 2 surgeries to remove most of the foot. He wants to get back to his pre surgery life as soon as possible. He loves cars and his farm. He lives on 16 acres in the Lacomb area with live stock. He needs food management, someone for apt transportation and due to the fall risk he can not be alone so general companionship. His wife died 2 years ago. About the care needs: He is a vet with liberal views. Someone who loves to talk about cars and animals. He was a mill worker for his career. He is worried about being a burden but can get grumpy when he feels pushed. He is kind and loves to visit. He wont wat enough when alone so someone who eats with him is good. He loves junk even though he shouldnt have it. He has a corvette that he loves and before his surgery he drove it as his everyday vehicle. No special skills needed. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
