About who needs care: Charles is 86 years old with Alzheimer's. He is mostly blind. Can walk around on his own for short distances. Needs help dressing, bathing, etc. Not aggressive or combative. No wandering. Needs someone to do basically everything for him, and do daily exercises for balance, his injured hand, and swallowing for his throat muscles to prevent aspiration. About the care needs: He works well with sweet-natured females with a sense of humor, and a steady, positive attitude. My father is very intelligent and witty. He used to read a book a week until his eyesight went, so would need someone willing to read to him for an hour a day. His caregiver must be able to read out loud well, with inflection, to bring a story to life for him. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
