About who needs care: Older has mobility issues but gets around with walker. Struggles doing simple tasks, dealing with television, needs help with meals, laundry, reminding him to take meds from organizer, changing bed daily, getting a shower but doesn't like to shower. We are happy if this happens once a week. Has some frontal lobe dementia so not interested in much but we do try to keep him company. Time spent would be breakfast, laundry, light tidying, sitting with him and just being some company. About the care needs: My dad is a smoker and also smokes marijuana occasionally. He normally does not do this while caregiver are in but its possible he would and its an odor in the home from time to time. Would be wonderful if caregiver had a dog they could sometimes bring. My dad lost his dog but cannot care for one. My dad would not do well with a quiet caregiver. He does better when someone is empathetic, keeps his opinion in mind but knows what needs done and is not afraid to gently urge him to do things, like wake up on time and change clothes when he's not interested. My dad has had several strokes which has caused some mobility issues and he isn good at determining what is good for him and looses track of time past and when he needs to change underpants. He is has incontinence and requires reminding to change the underpants before putting on clean clothes in the morning Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
