About who needs care: High functioning stroke patient requiring help with morning toileting/dressing and evening toileting & bedtime. Aid will assist patient's spouse in these tasks. Maximum work time is 1. 5 hrs in morning, 7 a.m. or earlier & 1. 5 hours in evening, no earlier than 7:30 pm, for a total of 3 hrs/day. Patient's home is a large, downtown residence with a furnished apartment for the aid's occupancy. The apartment normally rents for $1000/month but will be included in the aid's compensation. Based on a $20/hr pay rate, aid will receive rent free housing valued at $1000/month and $200/week cash compensation for a total compensation valued at $1800/month. Flexible early and late hours gives aid their day to work another job or attend classes. About the care needs: Patient is speaks English only and is intellectually with-it . The caregiver must have good English language skills for effective communication. Caregiver must not be afraid of dogs as the patient has two dogs in their home. No smoking is permitted on site. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
