About who needs care: My husband has ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Currently, he is unable to walk and is in a motorized wheelchair. He has 80% usage of his arms and hands. However, he is getting weaker everyday. He has no core strength so he needs help getting in and out of bed and into the wheelchair. We have a bed lift attached to the ceiling and a hoyer lift. I need someone to help him get in and out of the bed, wheelchair and use of the shower chair for the toilet and showering. His breathing and speech are stile pretty healthy. That wil get worse as the disease progresses. About the care needs: Someone who is strong and has worked with patients that are paralyzed. My husband is very witty and funny so someone has to have a sense of humor. Services needed include: mobility assistance.
