About who needs care: John is in his 60s and was diagnosed with cirrhosis in December. Since then, he has been in and out of the hospital and had a few falls from dizziness associated with his diagnosis. He has decreased appetite and energy. He lives alone and his family is worried about his safety within his apartment (second floor). Recently, he has fractured his collarbone from a fall. He has poor safety awareness and is adamant on staying in his apartment. Most of his family lives in Las Vegas aside from his son, who works multiple jobs and doesn't have a lot of time to care for him. John mostly needs help with keeping his apartment clean, meal prep and possibly assistance in the shower for safety and decreased energy purposes. He currently doesn't leave his apartment unless it is for a doctors appointment or breakfast with his son if he's feeling up to it. He used to be a truck driver and also drove nascar when he was younger. However, he now lacks hobbies and motivation to leave the house. About the care needs: John is pretty outgoing and hard of hearing which will take patience. However he is very friendly and appreciative. He will pretty much get along with anyone. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
