About who needs care: The gentleman is 89. He puts on his on clothes, uses the restroom and baths by himself. He walks up stairs to his bedroom on the second floor. He has dementia and can not be left alone for long periods of time. He would like to remain in his home as long as he can. Ideally the care giver would prepare three meals a day and provide conversation and would listen attentively to his conversations. He physical activity is limited to mostly watching TV or working on small organizing projects around the house and walking the small bichon dog around the yard. The care giver would wash and fold clothes and linens. The gentleman would join on trips to the market, etc. About the care needs: The caregiver would need to be patient and willing to listen to repeated stories. They would need to be able to say no to requests that are unreasonable or put him in danger. I believe the gentleman would enjoy having someone that had a hobby that he could observe and talk. My wife would visit and would stay several days at a time. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
