About who needs care: My mom lives in an assisted living facility, but she needs 24/7 live-in care which has been approved by Medicaid. She is cognitive but is starting with early dementia. We have signed up with Maxim of New York in Suffolk County who will be paying for her care. She is still social, leaves her room in the late morning and usually stays in the main part of the facility until lunch and dinner in the dining room. She needs oxygen during the night. She has a wheel chair but while in her room, she uses her walker (with assistance). My mom has aortic stenosis and pulmonary hypertension and on a hospice program. About the care needs: We need someone who if English isn't their first language, they have to speak the language well. Someone who has patience with an opinionated personality. Her medication is administered by an in-house nurse who also bandages her legs every morning. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
