About who needs care: My grandfather is 104 years old. He is mostly full cognitively aware but has become unstable on his feet in the last few years. He also has somewhat limited use of his arms after two falls in the last two years. My grandpa is a WWII veteran, likes airplanes, reading murder mysteries, chocolate, his family and Jeopardy. He is very routine oriented and likes things his way. He is not always open to help but has become much more so in the last few years. He is a kind man who really appreciates simple things. About the care needs: My sister is getting married in Leeds, NY in July and we are looking for someone who could help aid him in moving around the two evenings of the wedding weekend. This would just mean helping him every time he wanted to get up. He does not need help in the bathroom. An ideal person would be patient as he can be a little stubborn but also be able to insist that he needs their help. He responds well to kindness and humor. Beyond the strength to keep a small fragile man on his feet there are no other specialized skills besides getting along with the family (who are generally easy going).
