About who needs care: He has a diagnosis of PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy) which is making it increasingly challenging for him to do things on his own. He has balance issues so he is a fall risk. He loves watching baseball and he loves animals. He is independent in many ways just needs help with tasks and getting progressively harder for him. He would need to have structure during the day and help with getting in and out of the shower safely, making sure he eats, making sure he does his exercises at home, playing games or any type of brain stimulation. He is a very pleasant man who loves having company. About the care needs: We're looking for someone who is BLS certified, has experience with people who are fall risks or people with progressive illnesses such as Parkinson's or similar diagnoses, someone who is patient and compassionate, fun and good at keeping a conversation going, someone who drives and is willing to drive him to appointments is a huge plus but if not that's okay we will arrange transportation. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
