Hobbies and interests include goats, health foods, true crime shows, exercise, and war history. An ideal day includes walking, reading or watching tv, exercise and talking. He may want to do the chores he's always done, and needs help to stay calm and feel as independent as possible. About the care needs: Patience is extremely important, as well as familiarity with dementia. He bathes and dresses himself but is starting to lose coherency and find motor skills. Concerns include wandering, and forgetting to turn things off. He moving well upon discharge, but unable to do things like manage his medication or button his cuffs. Mental stimulation and companionship are key.
