About who needs care: My mother, is 86 years old with slow-progressing dementia. She would need assistance with personal hygiene and companionship, light meal prep, and housework, as well as occasional taking her to and from appointments. She used to enjoy reading and traveling but now spends much of her time looking through old photographs, keeping up with the news, and talking to her friends on the phone. Due to her dementia, she can become irritable on occasion and will often lie to get herself out of situations she doesn't remember happening because she does not like to admit she struggles with memory issues. So, she would do well with somebody who has a lot of patience and experience with elders with dementia. She lives with her adult son, three grandchildren (ages 26, 14, and 10), a family dog, and a bunny, so there will almost always be somebody in the house with you. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
