About who needs care: Dad has Parkinsons and for the last year 2 broken cervical bones. He is fully functioning but needs to be kept safe because of the fall. He's a history buff and avid hockey, football, and baseball fan. His ideal day is getting out of bed at 8:30/9 a.m. and washing and dressing himself under supervision, eats breakfast and watches TV or goes on the computer. With a care companion, he will usually take a 1-mile walk in the morning, before lunch, and then a nap after lunch when he does not have physical therapy. After a nap or PT, he has dinner with his son who lives with him and they usually watch TV or talk. Bedtime is usually around 9 p.m. Occasionally he goes out with friends or family or goes out to eat at a local coffee shop. About the care needs: Kind and compassionate, interested in older people and having actual conversations with dad. Experience in home care or medical background preferred. Driver's license preferred No specific hobbies or interests, but if they like sports, that is a plus Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
