About who needs care: My father has young early onset vascular dementia, which is stabilized and non-declining as of now. He is also completely deaf and mostly reads from large lettering on the phone or reads lips. He is very easy going and likes to laugh and converse. We are looking for someone with a car to just take him around westchester and spend his days going to lunch, walking around, and keep him company on the days we are working. An ideal day is: Wake up around 8/9 cook an easy breakfast of eggs, waffles, fruits, he will get himself ready and be ready to leave the house by lunchtime. After lunch, he will want to spend the day outside whether it be walking around a mall, nice walkable city, or you can even run your own errands and he will be happy to accompany you. About the care needs: A good personality would be someone who is playful and silly, someone who is resilient when his memory loss causes him to be fussy, someone who is patient enough to communicate with him via typing on phone and waiting for him to read. No specialized skills required, he only requires medication in pill form in the morning for seizure prevention. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
