About who needs care: Suffered from a stroke in October. Currently in Nursing Facility but looking to bring him Home. He has global aphasia so communication is difficult, but he is a sweetheart and manages to communicate. His previous hobbies were woodworking, puzzles, reading, gardening. Puzzles would still be possible. An ideal day would be to get up and get dressed, have breakfast, watch some TV, interact with family, work with him on the aphasia (flash cards, etc.). Not necessarily the home health aide. About the care needs: Dad still likes to talk, even though he doesn't make a whole lot of sense. So, talking to him is a good thing. Not sure how well he is cleaning himself after he uses the toilet, so assisting with that may be necessary. Also, he probably will need reminders to simply go sit on the toilet for awhile. He did have bowel incontinence, but this seems to not be an issue now. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
