Responsibilities include: Personal Care Hygiene Assistance: Help with bathing, grooming, and dressing to maintain cleanliness and dignity. Toileting Support: Assist with restroom needs or manage incontinence care as needed. Health Monitoring Vital Sign Checks: Monitor blood pressure, pulse, or other vitals if required by the healthcare team. Symptom Tracking: Observe and report any changes in mobility, speech, or mood to family or healthcare providers. Mobility and Safety Fall Prevention: Ensure the home is free of hazards and assist with mobility aids (walker, cane, wheelchair). Repositioning: Help reposition in bed or chair to prevent bedsores. Stretching/Exercises: Perform light stretches or exercises recommended by the physical therapist. Companionship Emotional Support: Engage in conversations and activities to reduce feelings of isolation or anxiety. Cognitive Stimulation: Participate in games, puzzles, or reading to keep the mind active. Household Management Errands: Grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, or running other essential errands. Laundry: Washing, folding, and organizing clothing or bedding. Meal Support Hydration and Snacks: Encourage adequate hydration and provide healthy snacks throughout the day. Special Diets: Follow any dietary restrictions or physician-recommended meal plans. Family Communication Updates: Keep family members informed about daily activities, mood, and health status. Emergency Plans: Be aware of emergency contacts and know how to handle sudden health issues. - Assisting with twice-daily walks for exercise and fresh air. About the care needs: The resident is Greek and has a strong love for Greek cuisine. It would be a bonus if you have experience preparing Greek dishes or are open to learning. Fluency in English is required. We are looking for someone with a warm, fun, and bubbly personality who can engage in meaningful conversations and connect well with the resident. Candidates must be comfortable around dogs and have no allergies to pets. Additionally, flexibility to stay overnight as a backup when the second health aide is unavailable is essential.
