About who needs care: My dad's dementia is progressing and keeping up with his needs is stressful for my mom. He walks without assistance but his balance is starting to decline. 3 days a week my parents go to a local senior center from about 10-230, some evenings they attend activities in their building, and on weekends my brother and I are wiith them. My dad is mostly a spectator in these activities though he will socialize a bit and likes to kid around. About the care needs: As it often goes with dementia, he has begun to neglect his self care: showers ( though he washes up), changing his clothes (though he presents as clean and neatly dressed). We are looking for someone to help him shower (he's functionally capable but needs encouragement/cueing), and dress in the morning. He wears a pullup for bladder incontinence which he has managed but has trouble putting the pullup on. We are very flexible with the days the caregiver is available, and realize my dad's needs will only increase with time. Services needed include: bathing / dressing.
