Patient uses portable potty chair in the bedroom. Patient is diabetic and must inject insulin 4c day. Insulin pens must be prepared forcesch injection. Nurse must oversee and record dosing of patients pills and injections to make sure none are missed. Patient sometimes wets the bed, so special pads must be used along with Depends. While mostly lucid, patient sometimes experiences mild confusion. About the care needs: The nurse should be patient and have a sense of humor. The patient is good natured and funny. He likes to joke and banter. He has no hobbies but likes to read stories on line and watch TV. The patient weighs about 135 pounds so the nurse should be strong enough to help him in and out of bed, into his wheelchair, and maneuver him in bed. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
