About who needs care: Mom has moderate stage dementia. She is still able to do most of her activities of daily living herself but sometimes needs help with warming up meals in the microwave or prompting to take her medication. She had a total hip replacement and if she is walking on uneven terrain she uses a cane. She likes to hang out with our pets (two dogs, three cats). She lives with me (her daughter) and her two grandchildren due to her need for intermittent minimal assistance. She used to be an avid hiker but now watches news programs on tv and reads. She does not drive anymore which is an adjustment. About the care needs: Someone very friendly would be a good fit and female only. Must love or at least tolerate dogs and cats. There are not any specialized skills needed at this time but ability to go to the grocery store for some items would be helpful. She will only need help intermittently when I am traveling which will be once per month for a few days. She does not need overnight care yet, just day help and someone she can call if needed when I am out of town. Thank you! Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
