About who needs care: Mom has Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, NPH (water on brain) which impairs here ability to walk without a walker. Hearing loss and macular degeneration (legally blind). Incontinence. Father is home with mom and the primary caregiver, he is 88 in June. About the care needs: Ideal caregiver is self starter with experience running a household and assistance with 86-year-old mom when needed. Light housekeeping including laundry, and ideally cook breakfast and dinner. Personality should be light-hearted, compassionate. Mom is resistant to outside help so caregiver/housekeeper should have experience with the elderly. My dad can be fixed on his way of doing things and caregiver/housekeeper would need to be able to work with him as well. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
