Caring for others is your love language. Must be warm, kind, patient & sensitive to the challenges of being old. My parents are retired teachers without dementia. Both are very kind. Mom, 91, is so sweet; hated giving homework. Hard of hearing, has advanced Parkinson's. Dad, 88, is very funny & will make you laugh. Has heart & kidney issues, & poor balance. Fall prevention is paramount for both. You will ensure safety with: 1) using walkers; transferring from bed/chair/standing/sitting etc.; 2) ADLs (bathing, toileting, dressing etc.); 3) daily vitals (must be able to take & interpret BP, O2, temp, etc.); 4) meal prep; feeding, if needed 5) med prompts; 6) noting physical, emotional, mental changes & alerting family 7) light housework (cleaning up meals, laundry, etc.) Current CPR cert required.
