I need someone, preferably a female in their 30's-60's, to come and spend time with my mom. She is in Stage 4 of COPD and is on oxygen and she is post stroke; her mobility is limited due to her breathing and inoperable hernias which has caused a major lifestyle change. She can walk around the house and get down the stairs and to the car with a helping hand but she is wheelchair bound when it requires longer distances. The days she is up for going out I would like you to bring her to the senior center so she can make friends and find hobbies. The days she doesn't want to go out which is more often now, I would like you to come and play board or card games with her. If it works out, come September I would be looking for two days a week( Fridays and either Tuesdays or Thursdays- same hours ). In general, my mom is a funny, silly and good hearted person. She loves watching shows w me, being by the water, casinos, games, and spending time w me. As of late, she recently lost her best friend and has been very down so I'm looking for a person that has a positive outlook and a good sense of humor but also understanding of her condition. She has almost completely stopped doing anything including her hobbies in the last few months. Board games, cards, diamond, painting, watching TV, senior center Trustworthy and logical, good sense of humor, gentle, patient are some character traits important for us. Knowledge or easily trainable w people on oxygen, post stroke memory games (a plus but not a necessity) , transporting from house to car and car to destination using a lightweight wheelchair. There is parking on the block. You must have your own car though in order to bring her places. No pets.
