About who needs care: Spry, pleasant, petite, talkative 96yo with clear, sharp, mind and great overall health; mild visual impairment, and uses walker for balance. In need of caregiver/companion 5 days a week (family does 2 days/week). Client feeling more anxious and vulnerable over last few months, and no longer wants to be alone(but still wants to be the "boss" of her household! LOL). Must speak good English, be calm, pleasant, upbeat, considerate & reassuring. No phone use/scrolling while being present with client and doing job responsibilities. Drive client to some appts., errands & occasional outings. Be able to grocery shop prepare, cook, & serve all meals; do cleaning/housekeeping chores;, provide minimal assistance with bathing & dressing. Independent during day. Client loves to bake (needs some help with set up/ prep/oven use.) Social on phone and w/ frequent visitors of friends & family. Day begins 7-7:30am, to bed 10:30-11 p.m. Ocassional daily nap. Sleeps well through the night. Main goal is safety, good companionship, and respecting ability of client to do as much as she still can for herself, while giving her some alone time and space as requested. About the care needs: Upbeat, pleasant, calm, patient, sense of humor; speaks well & easy to understand; respectful and fosters independence; clean and neat appearance; Main goal is safety, followed by good companionship. Enjoys good TV movies & Hallmark. Is also religious, with a strong belief in God and does daily bible readings(sometimes vision not good and needs someone to read to her) and she does daily evening prayer routine at bedtime. Client loves to bake and give away (cakes, cookies, breads) to friends & family, but needs some assistance due to visual and balance impairment.
