About who needs care: This is for my mother who lives with my father. She has been diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's and anxiety. She knows who we are, dresses herself, makes the bed, does laundry, can make her eggs for breakfast. But she no longer drives and can't follow multi-step directions (like cooking a bigger meal.) She needs to be taken out of the home. Go for walks outside or at the mall. Take her to grocery stores. She has a gym membership and can be taken there with some guidance. Take her to senior activities in town. Potentially doctor appts or hair dresser appts. She needs companionship, someone to talk to, someone who is sweet, gentle and treats her with respect and sees her as valuable. About the care needs: We are looking for someone with patience, positive attitude, present. Good driver. Responsible. Strong communicator with me. (I live across the country and would like to be updated about her day and how it went.) My mom is an immigrant from Slovakia, so anyone who speaks a Slavic (Slovak, Polish) language is a bonus. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
