About who needs care: It's for my 90-year-old mother who has recently developed a problem walking and has a very slight beginning case of dementia. She'll be living with me in my home in East Hanover, NJ. for 3-4 weeks. I will need someone or someone's (staggered hours) who can assist her between the hours of 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. These work hours can be the entire 9 hour time or choose 4 or 5 hour work days. My mother will need assistance getting in and out of the bed, getting into a wheelchair, the recliner, assistance with her walking using the walker, getting into the bathroom, occasional showers, helping get onto the toilet washing her hands and face. Setting her up to use the portable exercise pedal machine. Other therapy assistance having her walk the floor using the walker. Possibly serving her breakfast or mid morning snacks, coffee, tea, definitely serving her lunch and an early 5:00 dinner and wiping and cleaning the dishes cups, utensils she uses. About the care needs: Personality: Someone with a good bedside manner/a good friendly disposition. Difficult, hard people will not be tolerated. Skills: to be able to know how to work with someone considered ADA, an adult with a walking disability. Using the toilet, shower, getting her to and from the bed and the chairs. Hobbies: None, My mother reads the newspaper and is interested in watching game show's and conservative leaning political news programs.
