About who needs care: Barbara is 86 years old. She has congestive heart failure (CHF), glaucoma (legally blind with limited vision -- she can read with a magnifying glass and has some peripheral vision), and has edema that she's managing with a wound clinic. She walks with the help of a walker and has difficulty with steps (she only uses the first floor of her home). She was recently prescribed oxygen after being in the hospital for Covid and her CHF flaring up. She's whip smart and chatty, enjoys watching western movies and game shows, and likes spending time on her back deck when the weather is nice. About the care needs: She would like someone who is patient but also firm and direct. No specialized skills needed, but someone she can chat with, who will help her with tasks, and who can help her bathe a few times a week. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
