About who needs care: This is a working overnight position for my 37-year-old son with multiple sclerosis. He is not ambulatory and in a wheelchair. He has some movement of legs and arms, but is not paralyzed. He will require the person to be able to use a manual hoyer lift (occasionally, not everyday... only when he needs to go to an appointment in the a. m. or needs to evacuate for emergency). He requires every 2 hr rotations and other minimal attention throughout the night. Candidate must fix breakfast in the a. m. and perform light housekeeping; About the care needs: Someone with a pleasant, caring and gentle personality, who is comfortable using a hoyer lift (and knows how). Will train on some specific personal needs, but the individual must have experience care-taking. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
