About the job
About who needs care: Mom has end stage liver disease. She has just started at home hospice. She loves TV and movies/ crocheting. Typically day is check on Mom in the morning and administer meds. Changing her if necessary. I make sure she has what she needs, drinks and snacks etc. At this point she is sleeping a lot. I check on her every few hours to make sure she is doing okay. She can sometimes be confused and does from time to time hallucinate. She typically does not eat breakfast or lunch but will eat supper. Normally she can toilet on her own but may need assistance as the disease progresses. Night time meds are given around 8:30 p.m. About the care needs: We are looking for someone who is compassionate and has a sense of humor. Dog friendly is a must. Skills: Able to assist her to the bathroom if necessary; change her depends and clean her as necessary. Provide companionship and prep food; wash down the bathroom if necessary. It's a bonus if you are into ghost hunting and paranormal shows, Mom loves to talk about and watch those programs. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
