About the job
My dad is 70 years old and has ALS. Because of this, he is extremely weak and can no longer get himself in and out of bed or his wheelchair. He weighs about 300 pounds. My mom helps him but it's becoming too difficult for her. It's also very difficult for us his adult children, so we need someone trained in how to maneuver a very heavy, very weak person. He has also lost the ability to speak, so he communicates by typing on a tablet; his mental abilities are fine. We are looking for someone who can help him get up in the morning, help with hygiene, and get him comfortable for the day. And possibly also help him get back to bed in the evening.
