About who needs care: Long-haul COVID: heart failure, shortness of breath, lightheadedness. Kidney issues (has permanent catheter, urine bag would need emptying). Would need assistance potentially with showering (accessible shower), getting dressed (50% ability), given meals (receives Meals on Wheels), and handed his meds (all organized). He uses a walker as he has neuropathy in his feet and legs; he cannot feel the ground when he walks so his brain can't process if his feet are stable or not, but he can see his legs moving. He is a fall risk, so we want to limit his need to be up as much as possible. Just needs companionship, emptying of urine bag, to be given his food and water, meds, etc. Need someone with him when his wife (my mom) is at work. He loves watching TV and movies (Sci-Fi and superhero, Grey's Anatomy), drinks coffee, loves music and playing his records, has a little Pomeranian-Chihuahua (Bruno) that is his buddy with him 24/7. About the care needs: Someone friendly, smile on their face, good sense of humor, able to assist with helping him keep his balance (lift 100+ lb) - he does not need help with transfers just someone to help him keep steady or call when he falls. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
