About who needs care: High blood sugar Congestive heart failure Loss of memory On oxygen Sewing Playing gin rummy Watching TV primarily westerns Baking She would sit in her recliner all day if able. However this is not healthy and has been how it's gone since she came home from the hospital last year on oxygen. Before hand her ideal day consisted of making breakfast, watching TV and having her coffee, puttering about her home or flowerbeds, visiting with any family that showed up, and sewing a bit. We have all been trying to keep her motivated and moving. But it's hard to have eyes on her at all times as we all work. Primarily my cousin does most things, but she works full time and is also in charge of a lot of functions with church. I come by on Fridays for either the lodging or the whole day depending on my daughters school schedule and if my boyfriend has to work or cam pick her up. Any sense of normalcy we can restore and having someone there to make sure she doesn't forget to wear her oxygen is helpful. Even if only a few hours a couple days a week. We have tried to split it up a good bit between all of us. And it may not have to last long, but I'm unsure how long we will need services. About the care needs: My grandmother can get a little ornery and sound hateful so someone that is not easily offended. Her mind is not fully there and she does not think before she speaks. Someone that can assist her to a standing position of need be. Preferably someone who also does not mind to tidy up the house some as well. The deep cleaning will be tended to by family, but someone who can do the dishes, sweep, start/move over laundry, occasionally check the fridge and just tidy up would be greatly appreciated. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
