About who needs care: Mom has memory problems, has recovered from a life threatening illness, and is recently widowed. She enjoys gentle yoga and church has been important to her. She loves the beach and enjoys walking on the beach, around the waterfront, or in natural parks. She is adjusting to the change in her independence and we are looking for ways to help her have independence with safeguards. About the care needs: Someone who is patient and kind. Trustworthy and willing to listen while still realizing that mom has memory issues. Outgoing, but willing to listen. Upbeat. Willing/able to walk outside and go with mom to activities like yoga and maybe church. We are hoping that once she establishes a community in places, it would take less time if needed for the person. (wouldn't have to stay for yoga or church eventuall?) Someone who can gently stand up to mom, but is willing to listen. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
