About the job
About who needs care: I have ALS which makes me unable to speak and unable to move. I have difficulty swallowing. I need help bathing 3 times a week at least, and dressing. I would be able to pay for up to 35 hours a week to give my husband respite. I weigh about 145 pounds. I have a Hoyl Lift in my home and I bring it with me along with shower bench if I go to a local motel. I am content watching TV and DVDs. About the care needs: My ideal caregiver will be gentle and patient. I have to communicate with a whiteboard and dry erase markers most of the time this is preferred over Apps on my phone. I use to be a college instructor of psychology and sociology. I am a Christian. I am a Democrat. I have a firm belief in acceptance of all people and diversity improves our chances for survival. We are all human who need love and peace, and each other in one way or another. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
