Seeking companion care near Chapel Hill for my mother, an 88-year-old retired UNC English professor. She is sharp as a tack (still writing books), but is not very sure-footed anymore. She needs assistance going to some of her favorite places: the post office (she loves mail!), Library on campus, a few shops. Occasional help with doctor's appointments needed, too. She walks with cane or wheelie-walker and her caregiver will need to be able to fold and lift the walker into a car. We would also prefer someone who can handle light housekeeping. We envision a regular weekly visit for planned errands and occasional extra help for specific appointments, so we are hoping to establish a solid-relationship with one or two caregivers. Preferences for caregivers who are non-smokers, mature, and college-educated. Thanks for your interest.
