About who needs care: My grandfather has dementia and our night nurse just quit without giving us a heads up. He is a sweet old man but a man of few words, so we need a positive but quiet caregiver who is able to watch him overnight. He gets up during the night and might need help to and from the bathroom, or he likes to get up and get himself a midnight snack. The day nurse is with him from about 7 a.m. - 6PM, so we would need someone from 6PM-7AM-ish to come hang out. He sleeps in his chair in the living room, so you can do homework or whatever (quietly) in the living room while he sleeps, then help him up to the bathroom or try to convince him to eat a healthier snack when his munchies hit. He wakes up for the day at about 5:30AM, goes to the bathroom, takes his medications, drinks a cup of coffee, eats something (hopefully), and then goes back to his chair to doze off some more. Low maintenance job, just looking for someone we can trust will take care of our grandfather. Please let me know if you have any questions! :) About the care needs: Quiet, professional but positive and goofy when appropriate, good with older individuals, patient (our grandfather has dementia, so he can lose his temper sometimes over little things, like not letting him pick what his midnight snack is. he is harmless, and never gets verbally or physically abusive towards anyone, just might say a curse word or two at you and then listen), forgiving Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
